WEP’s Annual General Meeting

WEP’s Annual General Meeting on the 15 February 2018 was well attended by volunteers, trustees, staff, partners, local residents and other key stakeholders including the Mayor Councillor Richard Cotton.  The event reviewed the past year, business and celebrated successes.  Accolades from clients, volunteers and office space sharers were well received, comments included:

“Great service. Made me regain my confidence in a stress free environment. Kind, caring and non-judgemental”.

“They (WEP) are caring and don’t look over our shoulders so much like we’ve experienced before”.

“…staff are very passionate about their jobs with helping the community”.

Cloud Nine Community Festival, Saturday 15 September 2018

WEP will be holding its annual festival ‘Cloud Nine’ on Saturday 15 September 2018.  This year’s festival theme is: ‘celebrating green spaces and the environment’, particularly important at this time because of HS2 building work affecting air and noise pollution in the area and set to disrupt community life over the next few years.

The Cloud Nine Festival aims to help mitigate this disruption and bring local residents together to enjoy a green space in their neighbourhood.  The event will include free creative workshops (crafts, drawing, painting, cookery, seed planting, gardening) as well as temporary art installations with an environmental theme which would provide additional green features within the community whilst raising awareness about the importance of preserving plant growing projects.  There will also be interactive games which promote healthy eating, physical activity, helping others and community cohesion, as well as food and refreshment stalls from local suppliers using organic produce, sourced from local allotments where possible.

A Camden Tragedy…

West Euston Partnership sends its deepest sympathies to the family, relatives and friends of Abdikarim Hassan, aged 17 and Sadiq Aadam Mohamed, aged 20, who were tragically killed in Kentish Town on Tuesday 20 February 2018.

Working in close partnership with local community organisations across Camden, West Euston Partnership has striven to increase aspirations for young people, promote inclusion for everyone and tackle discrimination.  Speaking partners, we know how much the deaths have sent shock waves across the borough, in particular the Somalian community.
